Elinor Abbott

Creative Nonfiction & Speculative Fiction

I’m a Pushcart nominated American writer living in Europe. My work has taken a wide variety of forms, such as an essay chapbook, a comic, flash fiction and more. I am also a specialist in material culture with an MSc from the University of Glasgow. I write a column, "The Book-Object" on the materiality of books for Zona Motel, as well as contribute historical gossip. I also write a cultural criticism newsletter called Sad & Famous.

"Elinor’s essays are not only entertaining and helpful for someone like me who struggles to keep up with pop culture, but they are also masterclasses in media studies, applying a sociological lens to art in all its forms, and humanity’s relationship with storytelling, creativity, politics, culture, and materiality" Alive and (un)Well review
